We were all packed up. Ready to leave – and making preparations to return.
Carrying 4 large bags we gave ourselves a ‘city break’ before flying back to the UK. We knew of a place, surrounded by people, noise and city life where there was a good chance to see a favourite animal – the otter.
We declined breakfast at the hotel and headed to the ‘otter hotspot’ at dawn. This otter caught us by surprise as it crossed the path to return to the river. We had only just arrived seconds earlier. My camera was still in the bag with the wrong settings. In a panic I somehow managed 6 shots and got incredibly lucky with this one. Although its tempting to claim it was a finely executed set up, the only planned feature in this excursion was that we had turned up. But then showing up is the most vital part.
